All mos pink products are designed in the Berkshires, a beautiful community and countryside located in Western Massachusetts, USA and handcrafted in Kathmandu, Nepal.

mos pink makes sure that we select craft groups that support women's education and financial independence in Nepal. We are interested in building a long term relationship with people who we work with and are committed to a purchasing price that gives a fair profit to those craft groups who we work with.

Mamiko Schonbeck, Founder

mos pink was born in the midst of Mamiko raising two little children.  When she was introduced to needle felting at her daughter's parent-child class, she became fascinated by the beauty, versatility, and flexibility of felted crafts. She started creating needle-felted toys for her girls to play with and ornaments to decorate her house. 

At the same time, Mamiko had a long lasting tie to the country of Nepal. When she moved from Japan to the United States to pursue her education, her host family adopted a young girl from Nepal. She learned a lot about the country and also had opportunities to travel there to meet wonderful women who loved to laugh yet often led difficult lives due to a lack of education and skills to make their own income. When she was introduced to craft groups in Nepal through her American mother, the idea of mos pink was formed. She was excited about possibilities in many levels: to pursue her passion in design and crafts, to create a business that helps women around the world, and to bring such talented craftsmanship to those who appreciate finely crafted hand-made goods. Thus, mos pink was born in July 2014 . 

Mamiko designs products in the Berkshires, a beautiful community and countryside located in Western Massachusetts, working with craft groups in Nepal that support education and financial independence of Nepalese women. Products are responsibly crafted - made with merino wool from New Zealand and hand colored with eco-friendly dye (metal-free and azo-free). The slippers are handmade using soap and water (wet-felt technique).
